By completing online questionnaires, members share in Medix's revenues.
When responding to questionnaires, participants are advised of the reward offered for participation. Members may choose to refuse questionnaires without prejudice to their membership or services provided by Medix. Typically, points are offered for responding. When participants have 50 points or more, Medix sends a cheque for 1 point=£1. Participants also may be selected for Medix awards, which may be iPods, DVD players or digital cameras.
Questionnaires predominantly are of a research nature and are sponsored by organisations that wish to survey an audience of medical practitioners. Occasionally, we offer frankly promotional activities (e.g., online sales presentations) to members, who may choose to refuse them. Medix also sponsors academic research and "public service" questionnaires - the latter present members' professional views to the media and interested bodies.
Medix questionnaires are interactive and, we hope, interesting. Responding typically takes 2-5 minutes. Questionnaires usually are offered for a limited time and automatically disconnect when the optimum cohort size is reached.
